Emerald Waste Services Completes Patriot Acquisition and Key Initiatives

Emerald Waste Services, LLC ("EWS"), announced today that it has successfully completed the acquisition of Patriot Waste Inc. of Milton Florida.  This was a strategic acquisition that further enhances the companies MSW revenue mix.  The transaction included six residential routes and approximately 8,400 subscription residential customers throughout Santa Rosa County Florida.

 Along with its existing MSW collection contracts, EWS now services more than 125,000 residential customers and 7,000 commercial customers, and generates approximately 71% of its revenues from MSW. EWS' service territory now covers 40 counties across three states, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.

In addition to the closing of the Patriot Acquisition EWS is pleased to announce the completion of three major company initiatives, the first being the securing of its Mac Land Landfill commercial MSW Permit.  This Permit, which was issued in March, allows the company to receive unlimited MSW tons from an unrestricted service area. 

The second initiative which is one of the company’s many targeted green projects was the completion of the Biological Waste Water Treatment Plant.   This state of the art Treatment Plant, which is located at the Mac Land landfill, is the only one of its kind in the State of Mississippi and allows EWS to safely treat over fifty thousand gallons of leachate daily.

The third initiative was the privatization of the City of Williston, Florida which was awarded on April 2009.  EWS was pleased to help the City overcome the challenges of high operating and capital cost by providing an alternative means to the City’s waste removal needs.
