To whom it may concern, Emerald Waste Services (EWS) recently acquired the exclusive contract to provide municipal and residential refuse and recycling services to the City of Gainesville and approximately 27,000 single family homes. Since they began providing service, customer complaints have consistently been at a fraction of one percent, and the City has been very pleased with the job they do. We have also found them to be service-oriented and flexible when unusual events and situations arise that may not be fully accounted for in the existing contract. For example, Gainesville was recently impacted by a close brush with Tropical Storm Fay, which did not cause enough damage to trigger a full scale disaster debris response, but did significantly increase the amount of yard trash set out at the curb to the point that existing yard trash trucks and crews would not have been sufficient to get all the debris collected each week. EWS rapidly geared up with additional trucks and personnel from other communities EWS serves, and in just a couple of weeks collected three times the normal amount of yard trash and helped quickly restore the city to it’s pre-storm condition. Based on the service we have received I would not hesitate to recommend them to other communities.

Materials

Garbage:

• Toter and 1 – 32gal can or bag per service

Recycling:

Separate Paper from Plastics/Glass.

Yard Waste:

• Limited to an average 8 cubic yards per 8 week period.
• Max 4ft long x 6in diameter
• Max weight 50 lbs. Per container, bundles

Holiday Schedule

Work all holidays except:

• New Years Day
• Martin Luther King Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

*All holiday pick-ups will occur the following day, and regular pick-ups will run one day behind.

Services Offered

• 1x Per Week Garbage Service in 96 Gallon Cart
• 1x Per Week Recycling Service in Recycle Bin
• 1x Per Week Yard Waste Removal

Service Days and Restrictions

• Service Schedule: All materials need to be placed out for collection by 6am
• Bulk Collection: All construction debris needs special collection. Service needs created for Route Manager
• Appliances: Special Collection – No charge up to 3 per pick up
• Billing: On Water Bill

All material must be brought to the curb prior to 6am on day of service. All Recycling must fit in Recycle Bin container. Yard debris must be bundled or contained in bags, 32gal or less, bundles no longer than 4ft in length and less than 50lbs per container/bundles.
